We had dinner at metung hotel on Tuesday night when we enjoyed the fresh seafood. Therefore we booked for another dinner on Wednesday night. However we are 29 minutes late and when arrived and were told that our table near the window was just taken and the waiter said their policy is not to hold the table for more than 30 minutes. Fair enough. When we asked whether we can take the next table near the window and was told it has been booked. Therefore I was confused: whats the meaning of booking? People make an effort to make dinner bookings and this hotel does not respect that. There was no advice about the policies and no phone call to inquire about the arrival time. I also run restaurant in Melbourne and we also respect our guests who make bookings and always to take extra steps to take care of those guests. Understand running business much harder in the countryside, however when the night is not even 1/4 full and totally neglected booking guests are disrespectful and disgraceful. Their attitude is so arrogant because the are the only restaurant opening in Metung village. Eventually we drove to lake entrance to have a nice dinner at 2/3 price paying at the metung hotel.
About 20 + for birthday lunch. Food was great.came out in great time except one a bit late but sincere apologies were given with a free drink. Cake brought out and cream supplied. Great job
Disgusting service by 1 of the staff left a bitter taste. Great service by all other staff except for the elderly waitress/barmaid who was not only rude but obnoxiously rude. We were in a line of 3 other groups that experienced the same treatment Complaining to the publican was just about as useful as rain whilst it's flooding. Before I got to even speak to him I was told to sit down lady we've had a busy day which excuses rudeness apparently. The food was great but I feel like the publican is well and truly over it and his lack of enthusiasm has been noted on other occasions. Which is a shame. Great spot great food some very lovely staff just a shame they have the attitude they did. When all the tourists leave locals still buy local. Have been regulars for a long time. Won't be back and will definetly be telling others!
Traveling Australia in a juicy van and we did a pit stop here on a Friday late afternoon. Awesome vibes, pretty busy, free food nibbles, $2 raffle (hope we win!) free wifi! Haven't tried the food but the beer on tap is good!
